Back home for nearly a week, spending most of time doing nothing; eating, sleeping, finishing some more books, watching TV, playing millions of online game and chatting.
It's sooo sooo boring doing nothing at home!! But can't really leave my house cuz im just back and everyday my sis has to go look after another business and my parent is away so need to look after the house/apartment building the whole day.... not working while all my friends are at work... :'(
Got back to realize that my sis forgot to transfer the money for my air ticket (cuz need to pay when stil in HK) so the airline already automatically canceled my reservation therefore no seat avaiable anymore. So tried, tried and tried...cannot get the seat at the same price again .. either get a Qatar Airways' one (cheaper) but need to go on July 27 or pay a higher price of Turkish Airline (about 100 USD more). Which i chose the latter, cuz think i would need a bit of time to prepare and if i arrive 5 days earlier, i would have spent the same amout of expense.
Paid back my sis my airfare to HK... now have 700 Baht left in my account, a good motivation to start looking for job?
Then now the visa to Greece...why am i not Malaysian or HK.. they dont need visa to more countries!! SO envy them :( Thought i wouldn't get the visa in time, cuz i completely forgot about the travel insurance...and how i have it, in one day (pay extra again) ... so can go apply for visa tmr! Hope i'll get it by this week, fingers crossed!
So, out of complete boredom this week, just check my fav site when i get bored http://www.bored.com/ and found an interesting page:
CrazyThoughts.com - a funny list of questions that cross our minds sometimes... some have crossed my mind definitely!
- If humans evolved from monkey's/apes, why are they still here?
- In libraries, do they put the bible in the fiction or non-fiction section?
- Why are both of Spongebob's parents round like sea sponges while he is square like a kitchen sponge?
- Why do we say we're head over heels when we're happy? Isn't that the way we normally are?
- Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
- Why does the Easter bunny carry eggs? Rabbits don't lay eggs.
- Why did Mary own a little lamb?
- Etc.
Some more things to read to kill time:

"First time" in Hong Kong!
Writing from HK, where time is 1 hour ahead of Bangkok. It's now 3.21 p.m. at MC Flat, somewhere in Kennedy Town :)
This is probably my 5th or 6th visit to Hong Kong, a city so charming that i keep coming back although i'm not into shopping at all, and so i thought i knew so much about Hong Kong when i actually knew so little of it!
So...how is it being my 'First Time'?? About a month ago, got a message from Beatrice asking if i was interested to chair their SNCF (summer conference - mainly for leadership team to consolidate thier plan and learn knowledge/skills to implement the plan)...took some time to think over the offer and of course i said YES! That was my first time being asked to Chair any conference, very excited and nervous too at first since its gonna be my first experience...and in another country!!
'The Star Conference' (with a sub-theme of 'DO SOMETHING') was such an awesome experience for me, had so much fun durin the preparation and in the conference itself (and the site was AWESOME!! - UST!!!), so many inspiring conversations ... thanks everyone for contributing in any way to this conference and making another impact in my life :) Dont wanna repeat things i said in closing plenary again... but thank you so much for everything, everyone of you! (pictures: please find on my facebook and the STAR conference group!)
Random thoughts and moments:
- I never expect MC Hong Kong to be like this...haha...you gotta experience it!
- There are so many random people in the world; never use the word 'random' as often before.... one delegate told me that she's never heard the word random as many times as in this conference alone (and it was like 2 1/2 days?)!
- I'm not a really confident person, not really good at speaking in public ... (getting better bit by bit) ... and they used to have a Chair like Anisha and Ryan last year, so much expectation/pressure as i'm so different from them..not as wild or funny, even think myself as a very boring person (kinda am). A bit terrified to start off, but i learned that i just have to be myself ~ being random has its own good ~ go ahead and do it, no time to fear.... save my energy and acting my best to be so active in front of plenary :p
- I'm quite good at IT things, fast learner i would say, picked up how to do flash and managed to do 1-minute-flash presentation in 2 days
- Internet speed here is incredible comparing to Thailand... heaven for bit torrent ~~ Wooohh
- Need to improve on time management and be more strict to myself and others! be more structured too.... thanks for all the constructive feedback :)
- Bangkok's full name in Thai... how people tried and failed miserably to recite it :p Thanks for all the attempts, really appreciate that!
- Discover other parts of HK... and how we are so similar and so different :)
- How my accent seems to be influenced very easily wherever i go..... Malaysian & HK are the strongest influence lah~!
- The true meaning and usage of 'Dim ah' !
- Recalling the moment i first joined AIESEC, why i've stayed for this long.... why it is so hard for us, alumni, to leave the organization! Must think of my H4TF stage already :p
....so on and so on
In 3 days, i'm leaving this country and going back to my hometown... 2 weeks before going to Turkey to have another exciting experience...happy to know that i will see some familiar faces again (quite many!)... sad to not know where and when i'll see some of them again. But AIESEC world is smaller than we think actually, and we always have msn and facebook!! Thanks to the world of Technology!! :D

Throwing away my memories??
After partially moving back for a while, i now officially move out of MC house and am back home!! So much memories in that house...all those precious times... will definitely miss it (startin to miss it already) and the fun of having housemates..and all the parties!! Althou i wont miss much of the times i have to clean up that house and all the mess people left around :p
It's quite relaxing and boring at the same time to be back home... thats how boring life is without AIESEC! Need to go out more and find some random jobs to do for now, i think.
Anyway, so back home...with all the stuffs i carried from MC house...i found out i just had too many documents/random stuffs on my desk (and on the sides and under it), i was quite convinced that a rat could be trapped and found dead in that pile of stuffs on my desk; so time to clean up!!
Took me two days to finally finish cleaning up and organize my desk (like 2-3 hours/day) cuz i tend to take 10 minutes break every 5 mins of work.
Most of the things there were books, notebooks from my school years, tons of AIESEC documents, postcards/letters/souvernirs, random brochures, movies tickets that i collect, random notes and my partly used organizers.
As i went through all the stuffs, all the past memories just flooded me;
As i went through all the stuffs, all the past memories just flooded me;
- Lectures i took back in highschool and university...i actually studies and took notes! My handwriting never improves :) Couldn't even remember half of what i studies :p
- Small notes i took randomly everywhere; just another proof of my randomness
- AIESEC documents back in 2002; LC planning, strategies discussions, country meetings notes, project evaluation...exchange related stuffs... conference materials... many many things that reminded me of my AIESEC experiences
- Travel guidebooks, booklets, maps of all countries/cities i visited during AIESEC years.
- Sugarcubes of almost all conferences; good times with good friends :)
>>> No wonder why my desk was in sucha mess!!!
Couldn't help but smile with all the memories that they reminded me of, but since i didn't have much space left on my desk/in the house i need to throw away most of them! It was quite hard to throw some out (thats why they were there til now) but with scary scene of my desk and how dirty it looked and i know i would never go back read most of them anyway, so decision was made - to throw most of them out > sell them /reuse some and keep some that precious to me :) SO it's now more organized and much cleaner!! But it felt like i was throwing some of my memories away (especially the notes).... and i could never bring it back again..... or not?
My notes on Criminal Law / APLDS in Korea 2003!
NLDS 2004 in Malaysia (i was OC) / APXLDS 2005 in Bangladesh (nothing left from APLDS 2004 in Taiwan)
IC 2005 in India / IC 2006 in Poland / IPM 2007 in Egypt!
Finally an organized (and somewhat clean) desk!
~Lyric of the day~
Just a song from Nelly Furtado that keeps playing in my head for a couple of days already ... it's just so true... and i love her voice :)
All Good Things (Come To An End)
Honestly what will become of me
don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is daily
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?
Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why
[Chorus]
Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die die die die die
[Chorus]
Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.

Tagged by Sharon
Since i got so much free time, as Sharon expected, and there should be some new posts in my deserted blog...so i'm taking this chance to do what i'm supposed to do (and trying not to copy Sharon's but we're thinking too much alike :p)!
Three things that scare me:
Three things that scare me:
- Cockroaches: as Sharon described "the most disgusting and terrifying living things on Earth.. even worse when they fly" - cannot agree more!
- Ghost: Or just my imagination of ghost... but i love watching ghost movies & listening to ghost stories ah ... then got scared to go to toilet/wash my face and look at the mirror at night
- Desert: Again, just imagination of me stuck in an endless desert without water. So during IPM, when we're on our way from Cairo to Conference site i was trying hard not to think much and focusing on chatting the whole time! But the sky & stars at night were absolute beautiful.
Three people who make me laugh:
- My high school friends: can't just name one, they are all awesome! They just always crack me up, i can laugh so hard just to look at them interacting with each other.
- My AP sisters: Feel very comfortable around them...just fun to be around :)
- My Mom: Although we don't really talk that much now cuz we don't really live in the same house, but she's just so funny and always tries to make us laugh - when she's not complaining about us!
Three things i love:
- New gadgets/ IT stuffs: I may be not that up-to-date all the time but i love going to IT shops and see whats new...though i might know just half of the stuffs they're showing there. I can not buy a new cloth for the whole year but would buy an mp3 player or any IT accessories when i have enough money! And i also love to be online...am a net addict!!
- Music: I just love love love... what else can i say about it?
- Cats & Dogs: Can't choose just one... equally love them... love looking at them, playing with them but not feeding them - im just bad at taking care of living creatures
- I know they ask for 3 things, but i also really love Japanese Cartoon(comics & anime) and TV Series!! Just want to mention ;)
Three things i hate:
- Cockroaches: Who doesn't?
- Crying kids: I get annoyed very easily...and yah, crying kids annoy me bit too much especially on the plane!
- Our education system & corruption: It never gets any better and we seem to get used to it til we dont see how to change it or bother to make a change. And it comes to the point that some dont want to care about it anymore... sigh
Three things i don't understand:
- Life: It's a great mystery, isn't it? I was told that people we were born to pay back their karma from previous life and to find the meaning of life. So i guess i'm doing both now...finding the meaning of my life.
- Sciences: there must be a reason why i chose to stop studing sciences back in high school!
- Love: just copy from Sharon ;)
Three things on my desk:
- My lappie: Acer Travelmate 3012!
- My new portable media player: Meizu Miniplayer (M6)
- My mobile phone: Nokia...
(among so many other random stuffs on my desk!)
Three things i am doing now:
- Listening to songs i just downloaded
- Chatting on msn
- Eating plum candy: things to keep me alive and awake!
Three things i want to do before i die:
- Travel around the world!! So either work really hard to earn enough or marry a really rich guy to achieve this goal!
- Take my parents to a really nice/luxurious holiday with my money or buy them a new mercedes benz la...just want to make one of their wishes come true
- Diving in Maldives
Three things i can do:
- Easily sleep for 14-15 hours and be completely useless for the whole day: used to spend half of my summer break that way!
- Cook and eat instant noodles everyday
- Talk randomly with people who as random as i am
(and I can do more randome stuffs than listed here ;))
Three things you should listen to:
- Your parent: although they seem to complain most of the time, and then you become annoyed by them, but they do that cuz of love and concern - they also have more experiences, so better listen at their advice sometimes!
- The 1st & 2nd albums of the Corrs: all albums are great but their first two are the greatest!! With the voice of Andrea Corr...ahh...i need to listen to them one more time now!
- The waves: go to the beach...lie on the clear sand...listen to the waves hitting.... with mohito...and praying it wont rain :p
Three things you should never listen to:
- Rumours: well, rumours are rumours..dont take it seriously, if its true then we call it a fact not rumour - and dont spread more rumours.
- Bad comments: If its constructive one, then its okay...just not the ones that would only bring you down.
- Heavy Metal Music: Oiii...it will kill your ears! ;p
Three things I'd like to learn:
- Mandarin
- Aikido - only started in Uni... want to continue and complete my course >''<
- More Violin & Flute - started and stopped
Three favourite foods:
- Tom Yam Kung (Prawn)!! Can't can't live without it
- Spicy glass noodles salad: its soo Thai :D
- Sushi
Three Beverages I drink regularly:
- Cold water
- Pepsi
- Iced green tea
Three TV shows i watched as a kid:
- Japanese Anime
- Chinese Series... mostly from Hong Kong
- Variety shows maybe..can't really recall
Three books i read as a kid:
- Japanese comic books: too many of them
- Folklores: most books i only know the Thai names lor -__-''
- Encyclopedia kind: Hmmm..its like the series of somethings, can't really remember its name la...so long time ago!
Three people i would love to tag:
(Yay...finally come to an end!!)
- Rina: I know you still visit my blog :p and you really need to update your blog anyway!!
- Nadya: Since you urged me to update mine...and seem you update your blog quite often lately ;)
- Lynn: Hope you still read my blog and not too busy with your training naja :D Miss you!
Back to blogging
It's sad that my last post was back in April, on April 26 to be precise. Soooooo many things have happened since then, and forgetful as i am...here are some stuffs i can recall happening between my last post and this present time (not in order, and this is gonne a very long post);
- Sent CC application for IC 2007 in Turkey: and yah..as some of you may know already, i got it!! :D Communication teamster at your service in this IC ;) -- so i hope i'll see many familiar face in Turkey!
- MCP election: we have GOF (LCP KU 06/07) as my successor, i'm sure he'd have as much fun as i did in my term and will bring AIESEC in Thailand to another level!
- MC 07/08 is now finally complete! On Thursday (June 14), we just select the last MC member so now the new team is complete and everyone is in the country already :) SOooo happy for them...from 3 people last year to a 6-member team!
- So, the transition with the new team has been going on for a while now, and will completely finish soon -- MC planning tomorrow!!
- Recruitment planning with LCs / some LCs already started their recruitment now... and really happy to see how hard they've been working for it... good result!
- Reflecting on my MCP term: a year just flied... what can i say, there's so much happening in one year...so many things i learned from people around me (esp my team), friendship in the AP network - how i love my AP sisters, Poland & Egypt - Amazing! and all the experiences i couldnt say just enough!! :)
- Last MCM, last SG Board Meeting, Farewell dinner for Rob and last team meeting at Bug & Bee - i wish that night would never end... stupid flight to Malaysia had to be that early! Coffee at that place would never be the same again.... can't wait for our Sathupradit Reunion in Turkey!
- So as on June 1, 2007 - i'm now officially MCP Eject.
- AP MC TC (last weekend of May) - The first ever AP MC transition camp in Penang, Malaysia!! Its great to see the new generation of AP to be so active and can see the great future ahead of them. Its also good for Gof (my successor) to be there since that was his first international meeting - IC would totally excite him ;) It would be a totally different feeling for me if i wasn't selected on CC team...cuz i knew i would meet most of them again...but if i wasn't, i don't know how that would make me feel. Guess i would find out at the end of IC.
- Raised TN, Matched TN...our exchange number is getting better and better :)
- Oh yeh..almost forget about our visitors - Hallie came & stayed at MC house for 5 days, Rina's friends around the same time (that was in early May) as well as Nadya at end of May. Wish i wasn't too busy to hang out and travel with them!
- Hmm...seem like i dont have much life outside AIESEC, haha..let me think of some: went watching the Champion League game; our team lost and i swore not to watch their live match again!
- Moving back home around 2nd week of June - now spending more time with my family and my cute dogs :D
- Back to social smoking routine; quit for 3 months after IPM ..and Rina just had to drag me back to this world :p
- Met up with my highschool friends/my gang - first time i organised this gathering and surprisingly most of them could show up on Monday! I was late for 30 mins, and ... i was the first one to arrive!! All my friends now got my bad habit already, good fun - went to have lunch at Sizzler's, catching up for few hours and went to sing KTV :)) Miss them sooooo sooo much...cant help smiling whenever i think of them...too bad some of them couldn't come, either working or studying abroad...come back soon la!!
- Went to Com' Mart (IT Fair): reluctant to go at first, determined not to buy anything, end up buying 120-GB External HDD, 2-GB Flash Drive and 8-GB Mp3/Photo/Video Player!! Spent over 10,000 Bht in 3 hours...>''< ...good that i avoided the laptop areas
Well, thats quite a long post already so think i should end it here. And where i'm heading next?? Figuring out my H4TF stage now, most likely AIESEC internship... but for now, i would enjoy my upcoming conference experience in HK and Turkey and traveling!
** Our goodbye party (plus Rina's leaving party) and welcome party (for new team) will be held at MC house on Friday, June 22 - So come and join us!!!
my new media player - with 2.4'' screen :D

Reading Week
This week is a long holiday in Thailand, starting from April 13 til April 17, due to the celebration of the Thai New Year (April 13) and Songkran festival. So, i got 5 days to rest, relax & enjoy the festival at home! Was thinking about going out, joining people celebrating/playing water on the street but it started to rain and i did play a lot already the last two years - in Bangkok and Chiang Mai - so i decided to turn this holiday into a reading week (yeh, along with matching & some designing promotional materials)!
So here's a list of books I'm so determined to finish by the end of holiday;
1. Mitsukubi-To (finished)
2. Akuma No Temariuta (half way)
3. Yoru Aruku
by Seishi Yokomizo (Kindaichi series - love the series, but too many characters in each book - always end up forget who's the killer and the tricks of early books -__-'')
4. Mikeneko Homuzu No Yurei Kurabu
5. Kohaku-Iro No Daiari
6. Shisha No Gakuensai
by Jiro Akagawa
7. Hanochi by Hideo Yokoyama
8. Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho (half way)
9. Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami
Clearly, i'm more into suspense/thriller japansese kind of books but trying other styles too :) Rent half of the books so need to finish them up soon, if not distracted too much by TV, PS2 and FA Cup tonight!
Edit: In the end, during that week i managed to finish 5 books (No. 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7). Now on the way to finish book no. 5 and 8 ~ so soon you'll have my book, P'Weaw :)

After Party
For those who wondered - what happened in our 'Tequila Housecooling Party' last week?
- More people than expected; like 30 sth and as usual, i dont know most of them :p but it's cool to have members, trainees and their circle of friends coming. Some old friends coming to visit too, so it's quite a special night :)
- Alcohol comsumption: at least 60 cans/bottles of beer, 3 bottles of tequila (as witnessed), 3 1/2 bottles of Vodka (who brought the green apple flavored?? I haven't tried it!!) , everything that stored in our fridge (i believe we had a bottle of whisky and cognac) and who know what more they have brought!. Plus only 2 broken shot glasses - how impressive :)
- Normal scenes; people throwing up (in the toilet, thank you!), having fun, chatting, flirting, smoking IN the house (we have 2 balconies...for God's sake!), getting wasted and acting funny ~ all in all, we were all happy and we can call it a fun & successful party!
- Minors: yehh..the drinking age here is 18 - we made sure that some of them drank more juice than alcohol ;)
- Me: 11 tequila shots, successfully resisted myself from smoking (proud!), did something (not serious) that i regret the next morning, woke up with no hangover and cleaned up the house, thought i remembered everything until people told me what i actually did (so my brain chose to remember only a few things? or i half black out during the party..hmm)
- Pictures can be found below:
At the Balcony
Inside (3rd Flr. - where the new A/C is)
@ Dance?? I seriously didn't remember this part of the night!

Sway
Today suddenly wanna listen to this song again, don't know why - but it's always been my favorite song anyway :)
Say you'll stay, don't come and go
Sway by Bic Runga
Don't stray, don't ever go away
I should be much too smart for this
You know it gets the better of me
Sometimes, when you and I collide
I fall into an ocean of you, pull me out in time
Don't let me drown, let me down
I say it's all because of you
And here I go, losing my control
I'm practicing your name so I can say it to your face
It doesn't seem right, to look you in the eye
Let all the things you mean to me
Come tumbling out my mouth
Indeed it's time to tell you why
I say it's infinitely true
Say you'll stay, don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way, yeah I need to know
All about you
And there's no cure, and no way to be sure
Why everything's turned inside out
Instilling so much doubt
It makes me so tired - I feel so uninspired
My head is battling with my heart
My logic has been torn apart
And now it all turns sour
Come sweeten every afternoon
Say you'll stay, don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way, yeah I need to know
All about you
Like you do
Sway my way, yeah I need to know
All about you
It's all because of you
It's all because of you
Now it all turns sour, come sweeten every afternoon
It's time to tell you why, I say it's infinitely true
Say you'll stay, don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way, yeah I need to know
All about you
It's all because of you
It's all because of you
It's all because of you

Tequila House Cooling Party!

The reason to look forward to this coming Thursday (April 5) the most is the party in our house! This 'Tequila House Cooling' theme is based on 2 simple reasons:
1. House Cooling instead of House Warming just to celebrate the newly installed A/C in our house! - might double our electricity bills but it saves us (esp our interns) from dying from heat!
2. We just really want to get wasted & we LOVE Tequila!! By we, i mean especially Rina and I ;)
So very simple, Guests just need to bring a bottle of Tequila to enter the party! We, the host, will be providing water/lime/salt all night =D We have about 9 beds to choose from if they need to pass out in our party - and many spaces on the floor.
And why Tequila is so good? Cuz it goes so well when you take a shot with lime & salt, plus you don't feel anything much when you drink - only when you stop drinking then you'll feel its effect - so you keep on drinking til you lost all your drink/consciousness! How nice :)
Hmm...can't wait for Thursday to come!

PAUSE
Just saw a really cool campaign from FOX - PAUSE - it's about providing you with enough information and let you make your own decision, thanks to Miw for sending me this cool link :)
What's PAUSE all about then??
What's a minute worth to you? Is it enough time to text a friend? Enough time to race to class after sleeping through the alarm (again)? Enough time to read this page? Or is it just long enough to seperate a smart call from a risky move?
IT ONLY TAKE A MINUTE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
That's a one minute pause, 60 seconds to stop, think and consider the impact of your actions. A pause is a delay, a breather, a suspended reaction. A pause is about finding time to get the facts, and using those facts - not Impulses - to help make decisions. When emotions are running high and a minute can feel like an instant or an eternity, a pause is a moment of clarity you create for yourself.
"PAUSE won't tell you what to do. PAUSE will provide you with information about your Mind, Body and Relationships and empower you to make your own best decisions. When you can rely on accurate info and make choices you're comfortable with, you're in the driver's seat. PAUSE is not about judgement. PAUSE is not about staying informed and in control. It's about the confidence you gain when you know about the facts and yourself. PAUSE is also about seeking help when you need it."
So how long did this take you to read? Two or Three minutes tops, right? The next time you make an important decision, take just one minute to pause and see how valuable 60 seconds can be.

The Fear You Won't Fall
Just wanna add the lyric of the song that plays on my blog now ^^
The Fear You Won't Fall - Joshua Radin
Digging a hole and the walls are caving in
Behind me air's getting thin but I'm trying
I'm breathing in
Come find me
It hasn't felt like this before
It hasn't felt like home before you
And I know it's easy to say but it's harder to feel
This way
And I miss you more than I should
Than I thought I could
Can't get my mind off of you
I know you're scared that I'll soon be over it
That's part of it all
Part of the beauty of falling in love with you
is the fear you won't fall
It hasn't felt like this before
It hasn't felt like home before you
And I know it's easy to say but it's harder to feel
This way
And I miss you more than I should
than I thought I could
Can't get my mind off of you
And I hate the phone
But I wish you'd call
Thought being alone
Was better than was better than
And I know it's easy to say but it's harder to feel this way
And I miss you more than I should
Than I thought I could
Can't get my mind off of you
Can't get my mind off of you
And I know it's easy to say but it's harder to feel
This way
And I miss you more than I should
Than I thought I could
Can't get my mind off of you

Blogthings
Random things - just to create more posts in my blog, hehe. I guess you already know about this though ;)
| You Probably Couldn't Be a Vegetarian |
The truth is, you really like your meat - a lot more than you like animals. For you, being vegetarian is hardly even a choice. You'll take steak over tofu any day. A vegetarian lifestyle is not in the cards for you. You're just not going to go there! |
| You're A Passed Out Drunk |
Drinking gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, until you're thrown in the back of a police car... |
Bangkok Real Name!
I'm always amused by people's reaction when i tell them the full name of our capital city, Bangkok. For Thais, we call our city 'Krung Thep' or 'Krung Thep Mahanakhon' which translate to 'City of Angels'.
And how does that amaze people?? Well, simply because it doesn't stop just that!! Its full name is recorded as the world's longest place name!! How?? Just see this:
"Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit"
"กรุงเทพมหานคร อมรรัตนโกสินทร์ มหินทรายุธยามหาดิลก ภพนพรัตน์ ราชธานีบุรีรมย์ อุดมราชนิเวศน์ มหาสถาน อมรพิมาน อวตารสถิต สักกะทัตติยะ วิษณุกรรมประสิทธิ์"
And the translation goes like this:
"The city of angels, the great city, the residence of the Emerald Buddha, the impregnable city (of Ayutthaya) of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarn."
And if you wonder why it's recognized as Bangkok, well...as it's explained here; Bangkok (translating as 'village of wild plums') was the original site for the capital city and was located west of the Chao Phraya river (in modern day Thonburi). In 1782, King Rama I decided to move to a more defensible site and moved across the river to found his new capital, Krung Thep. For whatever reason, foreigners have never since caught up with the name change and the old name of Bangkok has stuck.

New Year's Resolutions That You Can (Easily) Accomplish!
Oh well, my last update was November 29, 2006 - poor blog ~ i actually already forgot my username and password, fortunately i still remembered the email i registered for this one...really poor blog.
So, anything major happened since then?? My X'mas trip back to my mom's hometown, SPARK 2007, a very cool bunch of in-coming interns and of course IPM 2007 in Egypt! If i have mood and time, those stories and photos will be up next
And here's something i got from a chinese restaurant in Cairo, Egypt - on a CNY night!
New Year's Resolutions That You Can (Easily) Accomplish!
1. Start smoking (if not already a smoker). Why the hell not? I'm not getting any younger, those cancer sticks can't be that bad and everyone else is doing it.
2. Stop excercising. It's a complete waste of time and there's nothing wrong with my growing belly - people should accept me the way I am.
3. Put on weight. Food is a pleasure and I see no reason to deprive myself of it and i consider it a great way to exercise my mouth.
4. Spend more time gossiping on the phone. Other people's secrets and stories are a great way to spend my free time and there's much to learn from other people's mistakes.
5. Eat more junk food. Fruits and vegetables are tasteless and are not good for me (mentally).
6. Start having a more pessimistic outlook on life. It's less disappointing to hit the grond when i'm expecting the worst (or not expecting at all).
7. Don't make any plans to travel outside of Cairo. I will enjoy the polluted weather, the wonderful scenery of crowded streets and the soothing sounds of the daily traffic jams.
8. Make no progress in my career. Why work any harder or achieve anything fulfilling? It's not worth the stress or extra working hours.
9. Start getting into meaningless relationships (if not already in one). I could use some more headache and it will give others something to gossip about.
10. Don't waste time thinking about world peace. It's not gonna happen anyway and all I care about is ME ME ME.

Stop this obsession ><
If you hear my ringtone lately, you'd always hear this one song 'i know i know i know' and probably you can sing along with it very easily. I heard it when i watched Veronica Mars and began my obsession over this song.
Then i began to get obsessed with another series 'Grey's Anatomy' ~ this series is so full of great unheard music (at least for me, most of them are not the mainstream's la) ~ and i heard this song again and other songs of this same band. I guess i don't need to tell everyone how obsessed i could be .. i could just watch the same show over and over again, as well as listen to the same songs/albums over a million times. Then i began to dig for their songs online (uh..jz cuz i dont think their CDs will be out here tho) and videos on youtube. How i wish i could work this hard for exams before!
So now, i'm totally obsessed with them...'Tegan & Sara'!! They're sisters from Canada, i think they are twins.. havn't digged down their bio yet... but thats what i read from youtube :) You might hear their songs on Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy..and some more. You can always find their videos on youtube as well, mainly from their concerts, which rock! They are so funny and very entertaining on stage :) And now my mp3 player is filled up with all their songs, and i tend to skip others song jz to listen to their songs over and over again, and spend most of my free time digging up more of their songs...pls stop me from this obsession!! or jz buy me their albums and their DVD so i can jz get over with it!

and what do I, and what do I, what do I need
to do to see myself in a better mood
and what do you, and what do you, what do you need
to do to get yourself in a better mood
well there's not a lot for you to give if you're giving in
and there's not a lot for you to feel if you're not feeling it
you bring it up and bring it in and we'll get you fixed up in no time
and what I wanted most, what I wanted most, what I wanted most
was to get myself all figured out
and what I figured out, what I figured out, what I figured out
was I needed more time to figure you out
there's not a lot for you to give if you're giving in
and there's not a lot for you to feel if you're not feeling it
you bring it up and bring it in and we'll get you fixed up in no time
cause this love is all I have to give
this love is all I have to give
this love is all i have to give
this love is all i have to give
there's not a lot for you to give if you're giving in
